Conditions of Sale

By commissioning or ordering a product you agree and are bound to the terms of business listed herewith.

The contract of sale is formed when we acknowledge and confirm a customers order. Cancellation is not permissible from this point.

There is no warranty that any item supplied by JL Engraving is suitable or specific for a particular purpose.

These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time and it is your responsibility to regularly check them for changes before you commission or order from us.

Commissioning and Ordering

All commissions and orders are subject to acceptance by JL Engraving. Quotations are subject to acceptance within 30 days only from the date thereof and are subject to confirmation upon acknowledgement of the Customer's order.

Prices quoted are ‘exclusive’ of reasonable postage fees and packaging fees. These are calculated separately.

JL Engraving has the right to alter the order or commissioning price for:

 - Delays, mistakes or additional work for which JL Engraving is not responsible.

 - Changes or alterations to the agreed order or commission by you.

 - Variations of any material, goods or transport costs payable by JL Engraving during the contract period.

Use of Customers own Material

If a customer chooses to have an engraving commissioned on a piece of glass or crystals belonging to them the following rules apply:

 - The customer is responsible for all costs incurred for JL Engraving receiving the materials.

 - JL Engraving shall not be liable for any defect(s) or faults found to be in the crystal or glass.

 - Due to the nature of glass and crystal, faults may be present that aren’t visible. These faults may from time to time result in an unpreventable crack, chip or ‘ringing’ occurring during the engraving process. JL Engraving is not liable for this damage and the customer is still bound by the contract. Cancellation or refund is not permitted.

 - All customers acknowledge that by agreeing to these terms and conditions you accept all liability for damage to your crystal or glass during the engraving process.

 - Should it become apparent during the engraving process that the material contains a fault JL Engraving will contact the customer immediately.

Payment must be made in full to JL Engraving as stated on the invoice before a commission is undertaken.

In exceptional circumstances where other payment terms are agreed in writing, our terms are payment in full within 14 days of the date of invoice.

We are not liable for any delay or non delivery of an order if the issuer of your payment refuses authorization. Should this happen we will endeavour to contact you and make you aware.

JL Engraving will endeavour to adhere to any ‘agreed’ delivery times laid out in the contract. However if JL Engraving are prevented from meeting an agreed delivery time through an event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control we shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising, whether direct or indirect, and the contract will remain valid. In this event the customer is not entitled to cancel their order.

Beyond our reasonable control is defined by, but not limited to:

 - Postal Strikes

 - Unforeseen illness or death

 - Financial issues

 - Unforeseen problems with suppliers

 - Problems delivering to designated postal addresses

 - Act of god or terrorism

Should there be a failure to deliver or within a time scale because the customer is not present at the registered address the customer is liable for any additional fees associated with delivery attempts.

JL Engraving shall have no liability to you for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control. All goods are packaged safely and securely to allow them to reach you in perfect condition.

Accepting goods and Damages

All customers must inspect the delivered goods on immediately delivery. If the customer deems the goods as unfit or damaged in transit they must contact JL Engraving in writing within 48 hours of the delivery, stating so. Failure to inform JL Engraving of any damages within 48 hours will be deemed as full acceptance of goods and we will not be liable. All packaging must be kept as evidence of damage in transit.

JL Engraving makes every effort to ensure that the customer is satisfied. If this is not the case then contact JL Engraving in writing. Do not return an item to us unless we have told you to do so. Loss of items or costs incurred through unauthorised returns will not be liable by JL Engraving.

In the unlikely event that a claim is made that the goods are not to the agreed specification the customer must contact us within 7 days in writing, providing full details. JL Engraving will then inspect the item, and if we agree, will replace the goods, refund the price or amend the goods at the discretion of JL Engraving.

In the event that goods have become damaged in transit then the customer is responsible for returning the goods to us. This must include the original packaging and a full written explanation of the damage. JL Engraving will inspect the goods and if we agree with the customers’ assessment of the damage, will replace or refund at our discretion. If the goods are deemed to have been damaged through misuse or abuse then JL engraving will accept no liability.

JL Engraving is not responsible for further damage incurred through the returning of the goods. The customer is responsible for covering the return package and insuring it accordingly.
